Default Problem with Excel 2007 Hanging when I open a worksheet

Can you help. I just installed Microsoft Office 2007 and when I open
Microsoft Excel Worksheet which was created in Microsoft Excel 2000 the
Microsoft Excel 2007 just hangs and only opens when I click on the Office
Button. Even when I try to open Microsoft Excell from Start/Programs it hangs
with no worksheet opening. When I open Microsoft Word 2007 this doesn't
happen it opens at the document that I have created (which was previously
created in Microsoft Word 2000) and when you open Microsoft Word 2007 it
opens a blank document. So why is Excel 2007 doing this and is there anything
I can do to fix it?

A well known bug. No consistent solution other than opening files from the
Excel menus rather than double-clicking.

Jim I think I might have solved the problem through a combination of doing
what they say in this discussion:-

https://www.microsoft.com/office/com...0-ba86e51a95de

and downloading a aplication called ASAP Utilities

http://www.asap-utilities.com/about-asap-utilities.php.

It works for me and Excell is no longer Hanging and opening workbooks in a
blink of an eye

Thanks

Harry
