![]() Because it is worksheet code, it is very easy to install and automatic to use: 1. right-click the tab name near the bottom of the Excel window 2. select View Code - this brings up a VBE window 3. paste the stuff in and close the VBE window If you have any concerns, first try it on a trial worksheet. If you save the workbook, the macro will be saved with it. To remove the macro: 1. bring up the VBE windows as above 2. clear the code out 3. close the VBE window To learn more about macros in general, see: http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/getstarted.htm To learn more about Event Macros (worksheet code), see: http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/event.htm -- Gary''s Student - gsnu200771 "juni" wrote: thanks but i am not that much familier with macros i will be grateful if you could please write me the steps to do that also. i really need this solution thanks again juni "Gary''s Student" wrote: Try this worksheet event macro: Private Sub Worksheet_SelectionChange(ByVal Target As Range) Application.EnableEvents = False Range("A1").Copy Range("B9").PasteSpecial Paste:=xlPasteFormats Target.Select Application.EnableEvents = True End Sub It links the formatting of B9 to A1. Whenever you change the format of A1, the format of B9 will automatically change to follow it. -- Gary''s Student - gsnu200771 "juni" wrote: is it possible to link two cells having same value colour wise i.e. if both of them are having name john is it possible to link them in such a way that when i change one cell's colour the other one changes itself automatically? |
