Default The color of gridlines

I am having a problem seeing the gridlines in excel, I am used to Excell 97
and in this new form the colors are to light. I would like to make them
darker and have them stay that way. I can change them for the current project
but would like to have that be the norm. If anyone could help me I would
really appriciate it.

What is your current version of Excel?

Most new users of Excel 2007 report a diminished capacity to see where they are
on a sheet.

No fix that I have heard of.
