Default Cut and Paste Text with CRLF into Single Cell

I am trying to cut and paste text that includes carriage return-line feed
characters in the middle into a single spreadsheet cell. When I do this now
I get portions of the text split apart into multiple rows in a column. In
other words I want Excel to convert CR-LF into Alt-Enter when pasting the
text. Is that possible?

Maybe you can paste directly into the formulabar.
