Default How do I single click to open files or folders?

The default is double click to open files or folders when opening or saving
worksheets. How do you set it up to allow single clicking (I already went
through the control panel and selected it for the computer, but excel is
still wanting a double click)

Open any folder and click TOOLS on the menu and then click FOLDER OPTIONS.

If necessary, click the General tab and in the panel named CLICK ITEMS AS
FOLLOWS click the SINGLE CLICK TO OPEN...

Click the APPLY command button and OK to exit.

I don't have a FOLDER OPTIONS on the TOOLS menu. I'm not sure what version of
Excel this is. Is there another way to do this or is an upgrade the only
option?

You need to open a folder from My Computer or from Windows Explorer and then
click on TOOLS in the Folder menu. This is a Windows feature and not an
Excel one.

I did that already except I got to FOLDER OPTIONS by going through CONTROL
PANEL and then APPEARANCE AND THEMES. Excel is still wanting double clicks
though. Any ideas why?

Well, why don't you try opening a folder from MY COMPUTER.

I'm using Windows XP and Excel 2003 and when I set the folder options from a
folder window, not the Control Panel, single clicks do the trick...
