Default League age chart

I have a large number of youth base ball players listed in a roster;

Player name birth date
john doe 3/5/2001
mike smith 7/31/2001...

And an age eligiblality chart on another sheet:

League Age

I would like to add a colum that would automaticaly grab the correct age
from the chart :
Palyer name birth date leauge age
john doe 3/5/2001 ?
mike smith 7/31/2001 ?

Is this easily done?

Assuming that table is in A1:M15, then

=INDEX(M1:M15,MATCH(YEAR(player_birth_date),INDEX( A1:L15,0,MATCH(MONTH(player_birth_date),A1:L1,0)), 0))

Looking at this it appears that the chart is really unimportant - it appears
that the age is based on how old the child is on May 1st.

If this is true

In a helper cell - enter the date 5/1/2007 (say cell e1)
assuming the birthday is in d2....d2000
in cell e2 enter the equation =datedif(d2,$e$1,"y")

Bob, thanks for the response but the chart is on another sheet (sheet 5) How
do I incorporate that into the eq.

Sorry Bob, I had a brain fart, it just clickled now and I was able to get it
to work. Thank you for the help
