word wrap cutting off text
Hi folks,
I have a file in 2003 updated with some cells containing a lot of text. I have it set to word wrap and I have double clicked margins as well. BUT, the text is getting cut off still and I cannot see the entire body of text at this point. The last sentence and a half is cut off. All things are set to maximum short of dragging the cell way out. Anyone know how to set it to just display the entire contents of the cell? Thanks! Matt |

You can add alt-enters to force new lines within the cell every 80-100
characters and you may be able to see more of your text. Matt wrote: Hi folks, I have a file in 2003 updated with some cells containing a lot of text. Select the text/column/row ....go to the Format menu, select Row & then
Autofit or you can widen the row manually. -- Lori "Matt" wrote: Hi folks, I have a file in 2003 updated with some cells containing a lot of text. word wrap cutting off text
Hi Lori,
I autofit the cell but it actually cut short the content more so. Basically, if I could make it fit vertically instead of horizontally, that would be preferable. I tried column autofit but that didn't change anything. Thanks! word wrap cutting off text
Thanks for the reply Dave! But isn't the idea behind word wrap to make that
unnecessary? Is it just to a certain point of amount of content that word wrap does this? It seems to want to fit more into the cell if I manually enlarge the cell horizontally. If I could get the content to enlarge vertically that would be the goal. If I do the same vertically nothing changes on the text. There is just more space at the bottom is all. Thanks again! I'm sure that's the idea, but sometimes things don't work the way you (and I)
want. If you look at excel's help, you'll see that MS only documents that you can see about 1000 characters in the cell. Feature Length of cell contents (text) Maximum limit 32,767 characters. Only 1,024 display in a cell; all 32,767 display in the formula bar. So if you believe the intent (as documented in the Help system), then you won't be happy at all. Actually Dave, that is the best answer to give me because this person can
stop bugging me when I tell them why they cannot do it. Thanks man !!!! "Dave Peterson" wrote: I'm sure that's the idea, but sometimes things don't work the way you (and I) want.
