Default Very Wide Spreadsheet

I have a large spreadsheet that we need to update info all the way across
25-30 columns. We tried hiding columns but then when we changed data say in
row W, it wouldn't let us unhide the other columns.

Can we use freeze? Does anyone have a better idea.

Thanks for your help.

I cannot understand this. Firstly, W is a column, not a row. Secondly, if
you need to change data in 25-30 columns, you need access to these, so why
would hiding columns help? (Or for that matter, any kind of freeze?)
Thirdly, changing data in cells doesn't affect the ability to hide/unhide
columns. Lastly, what exactly is the problem?
