Default Number of Decimals Excel can Handle

I would like to know how many numbers of decimals the latest versions of
Excel can handle (2003 and 2007)

Any help on how to find this data will be appreciated.

Default Number of Decimals Excel can Handle

In Excel Help: Specifications, Calculation

This tells you the precision is 15 decimal digits.

But you should know how to interpret that; 0.0000000000000123456789012345 is still possible.
