I have some spreadsheets where the cell width is automatically extended to
accommodate data and some that don't. Where do I find how to change this

Well, I think you probably see the text going thru the line when in the next
cell nothing is written, but actually the withd of the cell has to be done
manually, let the experts give their opinion.
Also in different way you have the option of shrinking or wrapping the text
to fit in the cell.

Thanks for your responses. Unfortunately the problem is not resolved.
Perhaps that's because the question was imprecise so let's run at it again.
