Default Leading decimal and zeros in formating numbers

All the sudden my worksheet started adding a decimal and 10 zeros to my
number entries. I've tried to format the cell/column again, but it won't
change. What have I done and how do I fix it?

Maybe,

Tools|Options|edit

and un-check fixed decimal places

That fixed it! Thank you! Now the only question left, is how did that box
get checked in the first place? One minute I could enter just fine and then
later it was all crazy with zeros! Thank you again for your help. Sanity is
restored!

Two ways to get that enabled.

1. User checked it.

2. VBA code checked it.
