Default hyperlinks in excel

I have created many hyperlinks to help me navigate between my files.
However recently these have all stopped functioning. The message I get
is 'This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on
this computer'.

I would be grateful if anyone could enlighten me on what these
restrictions are and how I can remove them.

Assuming you're using a Windows OS, check out help on Permissions.

It would appear you have somehow changed these.
