I open Notepad, paste in "Zürich" (notice the accent on the u), File, Save As
test1.csv, change the encoding to Unicode and hit save. When I open that file (by double-clicking it), Excel opens the file and it looks fine. I open Notepad, paste in "Zürich" (notice the accent on the u), File, Save As test2.csv, change the encoding to UTF-8 and hit save. When I open that file (by double-clicking it), Excel opens the file and the accented u is changed by Excel. I am using Excel 2003 running on XP. Anyone know if there is a way to open the UTF-8 file without that happening? |
