Default filtering for repetitive entries

I have a very large database of monthly meter readings. Some months have
multiple readings, which throws me off for using pivot table. Is there a way
to filter the table in a way that adds the values for repetitive months?

Try using the SubTotals feature on the Data menu.
Your data will have to be sorted so that identical months are in adjacent rows.
