Default advanced filtering based on entries ABOVE those I wish to keep

I need to know if it is possible to filter my data. The data contains
"headings" if you will of protein names and then detected peptides from this
proteins. I want to filter the peptides so that only a few show up (the best
matches), but without filtering out the separate protein names. (which I have
done). However, the protein names that do not have any matching peptides are
still present. I was thinking that the only way to remove these proteins
would be to compare them to entires above or below them. Is there a way to
filter entries based on OTHER entries? Like above or below?
