Default 2002: Unable to delete Normal_xyz style inherited from workbook(xy

I am using EXCEL 2002.

a)
When copying a sheet from workbook(A) to workbook(B),
sometimes style Normal_A
appears in workbook(B).
This "sometimes" seems to be connected to
new or changed styles in workbook(A).
Is there a way to prevent the style Normal_A to appear.

b)
Sometimes it is possible
and sometimes it is *not* possible to delete this
style Normal_A in workbook(B).
I have nor found an explanation for this.
Is there a way to delete the style Normal_A,
if Format / Style / Delete does not work?

The problem is minor,
but annoying (after many transfers of sheets).
