Default Obscure issue - recalculating linked pictures!

Chaps,

I've got a setup which makes excel work like a dashboard. Essentially, a
formula calculates "red", "amber" or "green", there are then some pictures on
another sheet.

The camera tool links to the cell reference where these pictures are stored.

A named range is created which changes the image cell reference based on the
verbal output from the formula mentioned in the first paragraph.

Essentially, this creates a conditional graphic - based on changes in the
formula output, the picture changes the visualisation from a green star to an
amber disc to a red flag.

The functionality behind this is fine. it changes when the formula changes,
therefore giving excel "visual scorecard" functionality.

THE PROBLEM.

When excel recalculates, the image quality drops enormously and you have to
manually recalculate (F9) to get it to show the original quality image again.

Has anybody ever seen a problem like this before?

Is there a solution?

Cheers,

Tom.
