Goto FormatConditional Formatting
Formula Is:

=MOD(ROUND(SUMPRODUCT(($A$1:$A1<"")/COUNTIF($A$1:$A1,$A$1:$A1)),0),2)

Click the Format button
Select the Patterns tab
Select the desired color
OK out
