Default Column mysteriously shifts up/down

Twice in this week, on 2 different computers, Ive had a column of data shift
one row up or down, misaligning the data in the column with the appropriate
row. Has this happened to anyone? Am I doing something while scrolling that
could accidentally cause this? Is there a way I can shift the column one row
up/down in the opposite direction to get my data realligned?

Select a cell in that column and either DeleteShift cells up or InsertShift
cells down.

The "mysterious" shifting up or down could very well be user-generated but no
way of knowing how.

I have not experienced Excel doing this on its own but maybe lucky<g
