Default Is there a text highlighting feature in excel 2003?

You can highlight text manually by clicking a background colour with a
cell or range highlighted. You can also make use of Conditional
Formatting to arrange that a cell is highlighted if some condition is
met (up to 3 different conditions can be set up for each cell in XL
2003).

You could also use VBA to highlight certain words in a cell.

Guess it all depends upon your providing more details on what you want
highlighted.
