Cell Protect
Our workgroup has gone back and forth on whether certain cells should be
protected. I know to use the FORMAT/CELLS/PROTECTION and to check or uncheck the "Locked" checkbox on the Protect Cells dialog box. I am also using the TOOLS/PROTECTION menus to toggle protection on and off. After unlocking specific cells, I now wish to relock the cells using FORMAT/CELLS/PROTECTION. I have selected "Locked" in the Protect Cells dialog box and turned PROTECTION back on. But the cells are still able to be edited. Suggestions will be appreciated. Thank you. -- Arthur |

Cell Protect
After setting the Locked state for the cells, reprotect the worksheet to
enable protection. Formatting the cell just informs Excel on how to treat the cell if protection is turned on, in and of itself it does not protect the cell. -- Kevin Backmann "Arthur" wrote: Our workgroup has gone back and forth on whether certain cells should be protected.
