Default Copyright Question

I am sorry - I know this is a tech site, but I can't find anywhere else to
get my question answered - so I hoped someone could direct me. I have found
where it states that MS allows an individual to offer a spreadsheet for
sale...however, I can't find any information that states one way or the other
if I can copyright my idea/spreadsheet that was created with MS Excel. Any
thoughts who to ask?

Default Copyright Question

If you use Microsoft Word to write a novel, does Microsoft have any claim to
its copyright?

The copyright on your spreadsheet model is yours, or your employer's if it
was generated as part of your employment.
