Default Why doesn't Excel 2007 record charting and office art macro code?

I understand this is by design in 2007 per MS. However, the people I support
(engineers in R&D) do charting all day long. There are now errors in macros
they developed since VBA was introduced (Excel 95?) It stinks that they will
be spending countless hours as programmers - brings back their fortran days.

There is inadequate help and the object model and methods are not very well
documented - at least that I can find. So, two questions!

Anyone know of a great book for coding on charting and Office Art? (sucks to
have to pay $50 more to use the program - non Microsoft Press book preferred!)

Any good web sites that contain code specific to 2007 charting? (ozgrid.com
has not got a lot there yet - that was my old stand by)

Also, I am going to consistently bach the fact that the recorder does not
work with charting any more ...... please join in. I do hereby grant
Microsoft the permission to use this comment to improve their new product so
that it is as good as the previous versions ......... usability of the $600
program is compensation enough !!
