Default Date/Time Format Problem

Hello - I'm copying sports statistical data from a web source where
one of the elements is time played. When I paste the data in excel it
appears as 60:00:00 (and the cell format is listed as [h]:mm:ss).
However, the actual data in that cell is listed as 1/2/1900 12:00:00
PM.

I've like to be able to use this data to track things like time
played, goals per minute, etc., but the format of the cell prevents me
from doing this. I've tried changing the format, but nothing seems to
be working. Anyone have any thoughts on how I can change this field
into more useful data?

Thanks.

Why does it stop you, you have the actual data and the view of that data.
Add it to get time played. Multiply it 24*60 and you have the minutes played
to calculate goals per minute, etc.
