Default Project-like calendaring for Excel

I use MS Project to assign dates to tasks, taking advantage of the dialog
that lets me select days of the week and other useful designations, e.g.:,
'every other Tuesday', 'first Monday of the month beginning 07/07/2007 and
ending 12/31/2008', etc. Once doing so, I export (cut & paste) the resulting
columns To Excel. Having just upgraded to Office 2007, but not Project, since
this function is the only reason I use Project, is there a tool or method for
doing this in Excel so I can obviate the need for Project?
