Default how do i transfer work from xp to vista

I am currently using windows xp and need to transfer all my files onto vista.
I dont have internet on my xp so need to transfer from memory stick. I have
done this and now found i can not open any of it.

Please can anybody help.

Do you own excel on that pc that runs Vista?

Excel (and the rest of MSOffice) is not something that is part of Vista. You
either pay extra to have it pre-installed or pay for the software and install it
yourself.
