How do I get rid of "Spreadsheet was created by a newer version"
I am running Excel '97 and XP Pro (SP2), and have a spreadsheet that I
accidently edited with excel 2000. When I open it with Excel 97, it reads properly, but when I save it, it takes forever, and before saving I get a message it was created by a newer version of excel. Although I have saved it as a new file name (in excel 97 format), opening the new file causes the same warning and slow performance. I share files between work and home, and have exactly the same version of Excel loaded at home and don't get that warning there, and the performance is 10x faster. Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks, Scott |

Try just saving as an excel file
