Default security, digital signature loop

On my personal workbook.xls it never asked for a digital signature. Now it
is asking for one. It says you must close the file and set the security
level. The security level is already set. However I add my digital
signature. Then I try to run a macro and it says I can't because it is
unsigned. Then I go through this process and get the same result. It keeps
saying I must close the file first but then I loose the digital signature. I
need to run a macro.
Please help.
