Default how do i recover excel 2002 that was wiped of my computer

A friend gave me a computer. I found that I am missing any kind of word
program with the exeption of word pad. Upon searching, I found evidence that
it had Excel origionally on it. I would like it back. Please help.

Your friend may have given you the computer, but that doesn't mean they'd
need to give you any software that might have been installed on it at some
time or other. If Word, Excel or Office isn't on the machine, and if your
friend didn't give you the disks, manuals and certificates of authenticity
that would have come with Word, Excel or Office, then your friend didn't
give you a license for Word, Excel or Office. You'd need to buy your own
copy. If you lack the funds to do so, there's always OpenOffice, which is a
free download and provides most of the functionality of Microsoft Office.

All of what Harlan wrote is what I'd have said also: if you don't have the
disks and licenses, then you'll have to come up with your own. OpenOffice is
indeed a viable alternative although the macro language is different, the
worksheet functions are virtual duplicates.

Your friend may have (properly) removed Office/Excel from that machine and
installed it on another one - keeping the licenses for himself. He realized
that he could not legally keep a copy of Office/Excel for himself and also
give that same copy away or have it installed on 2 machines that did not
belong to him (or under some license agreements, to other members of his
immediate family). I've intentionally stayed away from the possibility that
the copy of Office/Excel that was on the machine was an OEM copy <g.
