Default Menu Item disappeared after double-clicking xls

Hi,
I am using add-ins for cusom toolbars and extra menu items.
I understand that these are stored in excel10.xlb,
When I start Excel from the desktop shortcut with:
"C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application
Data\Microsoft\Excel\Excel10.xlb" No problem.

But I often open a xls file by double-clicking this file in a file manager.
However, in the file manager xls is associated with:
Microsoft Excel Worksheet ("E:\Office\Office10\EXCEL.EXE" /e)
Now the extra menu items are not showing.
How can I solve this ?
TIA,
Hans
