cell format doesn't take place
I have a formula that subtracts one cell from another. For example:
$10,000 - $4,000 = $6,000. However, in the cell with the answer ($6,000), it displays as 6000. I tried changing the cell formatting, but no matter what I do, the "sample" doesn't change. It insists on 6000. If I remove the formula, and put in $6,000 manually, it will display as $6,000. Am I missing something? |

What is the cell formatting now?
Is there conditional formatting in that cell? -- Wigi http://www.wimgielis.be = Excel/VBA, soccer and music "RH" wrote: I have a formula that subtracts one cell from another. the cell formatting is number, with the 1,000 separator and no conditional
formatting in that cell. I just can't get it to change in Excel 2007 "Wigi" wrote: What is the cell formatting now? Does that work? Gord Dibben MS Excel MVP On Tue, 17 Jul 2007 10:24:01 -0700, RH wrote: the cell formatting is number, with the 1,000 separator and no conditional formatting in that cell.
