adding a hyper link to a cell comment
i would like to add a hyperlink to a comment box. is this possible? if so how?

In a comment, no.

is it possible to attach a text box to a cell in a similar way to which a

I had to rightclick on the textbox and assign the hyperlink to the textbox.

Actually, just typing the URL in the textbox works on my system WIN XP Excel

I think it'll depend on what else you type in that textbox.
If you don't put anything else in except the hyperlink, then it's essentially doing the assign hyperlink stuff.
