Default Is there a 'floating key/ legend' facility?

I am working with a large set of data using coloured fills to denote various
stages of a process. It would be handy to have the key visible on the screen
at all times, rather than having to scroll to the bottom of the data each
time an entry alters. I am familiar with 'freezing panes', but my key is
only 2 columns x 8 rows.

Any help gratefully received!

You could copy your key to another sheet and then you can view both
sheets at the same time - Window | New Window and Window | Arrange |
Horizontal, then adjust each window to an appropriate size.

Hope this helps.

Maybe you can move the key to the top of the screen and freeze panes so that
it's always visible.

Or maybe you could use
Window|New window
Window|Arrange|horizontal
and arrange the windows so that you can always see the key on the bottom window.

When you're tired of that extra window, you can select the window you want to
close and hit ctrl-w.

Lots of people are confused with multiple windows, so you may not want to save
the file with multiple windows open if you allow others to use the file.
