Hi Everyone,
I've just started using the Template Wizard and Data Tracking add-in on Excel 2003. I understand the basics of creating a template, but I need help on how I should be distributing the template.... Because of the number of users involved (at least a hundred), I have to find some way to distribute it efficiently. I was wondering if I should store the the database (an Excel list) on a network share and maybe send the template to all users as an attachment through email (with instructions to fill up the template and then save it as an .xls so that the data will populate the database on the network share). Would this work ??? If yes: 1) How should the permissions on the network share look like ? (e.g. do I need to grant read & write access to all the users). 2) Does each & every user need to have Template Wizard installed on the Excel in their PCs ? 3) And finally... (sorry for asking so much & being a pain, I'm really new to all this...) any idea where the path to the database is stored in the template ? Is there some way for the users to view or find out the database path from the template ? Appreciate any light you can shed on this.... Many thanks in advance!! Sofia |
