Default maximum memory for Excel 2007?

Does anyone know what is the upper limit of memory allocation for Excel 2007?

I have a machine with 4GB of RAM and at least as much virtual memory but
...... Excel never uses more than 1GB? Hence the performance suffers. Any
possible way to get Excel to use the available resources?

Default maximum memory for Excel 2007?

Hi

From Microsoft's specification for XL2007
Total amount of PC memory that Excel can use
Old Limit: 1GB
New Limit: Maximum allowed by Windows

How do you know it is only using 1 GB? I am not aware of any "switch"
either in Windows or Excel to alter this.
Is your machine Dual Core?
There is a setting in round Office buttonExcel
optionsAdvancedFormulas to enable multi-threaded calculations and to
set the number of processors used, but I know of no setting to deal with
the amount of RAM.

Default maximum memory for Excel 2007?

Thank you Roger!

I am somehow ashamed I did not see the mention of the usage in the
Specification, nor in the Help file. My question is actually for my PRoject
Manager who needs to manipulate the data I extract for him from SQL-Server
2005 and his machine has been crashing, with him seeing the task manager
maxing out the Excel at 1GB.

So I guess our help desk has to do something about his Windows Image, not
Excel - well that is nice to know.

Thank you once again.

Sol.
