Default how to have same bg style for cells in xls in 2007 as in 2003?

I have an excel sheet in created in office 2003.
Now when it is opened in a vista machine or in office 2007 , the background
color of cells does not appear anymore.Every cell has a white background
color.
How to get the background colors of the cells in office 2007?
Should i use macros ??
