Default Display a message if data is put in to a specific column

Is there anything I can do to display a message to users if data is input to
a specific column in a spreadsheet, like a pop up window?

See if Data Validation will work for you....

Check this website for instructions on displaying a pop-up window to assist
users with input:

Does that help?
