Default how do I filter a list of items based on values in another sheet

I have a workbook with two sheets. Sheet 1 contains a list of projects and
various criteria, Sheet 2 contains a reduced view of the first driven by a
drop-down list. The drop-down is using values that are stored in sheet 1 and,
when a value is selected, I want to filter the results into Sheet 2.

I've tried variations on Autofilter and Advanced Filter plus Lists but
without success.

Any ideas?
