The ward "Calculate" is showing at the bottom of my Excel screen for this
particular file and i would like to stop it from calculating ever time I move my data. I still like to have the spreadsheet on automatic calculation but not for ever move I make. Can you help me? I have had this happen before but it usually goes away after I close it. |

Hi,
The word "Calculate" in status bar means that you changed calculation from automatically to manulay and it comes when you make a change in your sheet and you should hit the F9 key to recalculate to change back the calculation to automatically go to menu : ToolsOptionCalculationautomaticallyOK. Thanks, -- Farhad Hodjat "trainer07" wrote: The ward "Calculate" is showing at the bottom of my Excel screen for this particular file and i would like to stop it from calculating ever time I move my data. when there are too many dependancies, excel will calculate all cells at any
change. If you have several very large files open, it can easily happen. the reason it used to go away when you closed out Excel and reopened is that yo probably did not have one program with too many dependencies by itself. and when you closed Excel, it reset the flag for the dependency list. I occasionally go through my bigger files and paste special values any formulas which I do not need to continue operating. when I have one equation which has multiple copies I keep one active and set up a macro to paste the equaiton to other areas I want the calc to be done at and then to paste values after the calculation.
