Default Column Widths

how do I change column width smaller on one bit of chart but keep what is
above the same as before, i.e. I have 2 large colums above but want abot 5
columns underneath but still taking up same space. I am constructing a chart
that requires different sizes of rows and columns within the one document.

Hi,

The only way is to merge the cells above the chart, probably better to have
6 small columns then merge the two '3's above. #You may have to do this
manually but you can just do the top one, row 1 then double-click the format
painter and use the cursor keys to move down quickly merging as it goes

Hi Kooky,

There is another option.
In a blank sheet put something like 'test' in say cell F4
then select F4 to J4, right click and goto Format CellsAlignment Tab
and under the Horizontal pull-down select 'Centre Across Selection'

You will see that the visual effect is the same as merge cells, but the
cells
still retain their integrity so a selection range that runs through that
part of the worksheet will not be compromised.
