When creating a work book with multiple data sheets and pivot tables, file
size (because of the amount of data being entered daily) is getting out of hand. Is there any way to reduce the file size of the work book that is being emailed to others such as "Flattening the Graphs" which is a term I have heard some where. My goal is to be able to reduce the file size of the copy of the spread sheet that I am emailing to others because of the impact it is having on their Outlook Inbox |

Pivot Tables can consume lots of storage. Any pivot tables that don't have
to be dynamic could be copy PasteSpecial as value onto itself to save file size. -- Gary''s Student - gsnu200726 "Kat Systems" wrote: When creating a work book with multiple data sheets and pivot tables, file size (because of the amount of data being entered daily) is getting out of hand. If you have a publicly accessable web site, you could place the file(s) in a
secure directory and simply email them the link to it. They could then go to the site and provide proper username/password and download the file at their leisure. This doesn't reduce the size of the file, but does relieve the load on their Inbox. If your company has its own servers, it's a fairly easy thing to set up SharePoint Server with this type of feature - including automatic notification to people of when the file has been altered (a new version uploaded by you). I should also have remembered to suggest web services that permit sending
large files by uploading them to the service and simply sending link to the file via email. www.yousendit.com has such a service, with business accounts available. Not sure what the cost is.
