Default excel 2000 shortcut for deselection

I have reviewed the messages related to shortcuts and can't find the following.
I am using Excel 2000.

I selected a cell, for example D3, extended the selection to the whole row,
using Shift-space and then deseleted column A, all with keyboard actions.

No macros, no mouse actions were involved

After that, I could use Alt-E,D to delete the selected cells and arrow kets
to answer the pop-up asking what to delete or how to shift the remaining
cells.

But now I cannot repeat the "deseleted column A" action.

What is the keyboard combination to do this?

Thanks,

Leef_me

Without using VBA code I have no idea how you de-selected column A from the row
selection.

Maybe I will learn a new trick today<g

Btw, you can delete a row/column by pressing ctrl and -
no need for Alt-E,D

Sounds as though you might have perhaps pressed multiple keys by mistake,
for instance you can select with ctrl + shift and arrow keys or maybe ctrl
and * which will select the area so if you have values in B2:Z2 those will
be selected
