Default Discussion group problem - my computer?

Everytime I send a query to the newsgroup I get the follow screen:

"Communities E-Mail Notification

Thank you for taking the time to fill out the following online form. If you
do not want to submit your information, click Cancel. " ....

And much more! I hit Cancel or Continue, two options that show up and the
message is gone, but only to reappear with the next message.

Any suggestions?

Default Discussion group problem - my computer?

Hi, Shane

This isn't a solution.....
I've been getting the same annoying windows ad nauseum when posting via the
web interface for several months now. I have no idea why they started. They
seem to be completely independent of my browser and forum settings. Like
your experience, regardless of my continue/cancel selection, they always
reappear at my next post.

Hoping for a resolution, I'll be following this thread closely.

Best Regards,

Ron

Default Discussion group problem - my computer?

Hi Don,

Well it looks like others are having this problem also.

One test I have made shows the following:

1. I receive a notification that one of my suggestions or question has a
response. I click that link: "Read and rate the response" it takes me to
the question and response.
2. I click Reply and write a response.
3. I click Notify me of replies and click Post.
Then I get the screen at the following address:

https://profile.microsoft.com/RegSys...2e84&lcid=1033

I am using SBC Yahoo as my ISP.

Any help would be nice.

The only "problem" with Outlook Express is that you can't get notification if
there are changes to a thread. At least I haven't figured it out.

Barb,

I just mark em with the little eyeglass thingee set precedence by date
received and then that and go back to look.
Alt + H will give you just the ones you have answered.

I also lurk in the L & G lists where it is all regular email.
The EXCEL-L list is hosted on a Windows NT(TM) machine running L-Soft
international's LISTSERV(R) software. For subscription/signoff info and
archives, see http://peach.ease.lsoft.com/archives/excel-l.html .

That works fine if you are doing it on one computer. It doesn't work so well
when you are accessing this site from multiple locations. Let's say I use
OE at work. When I get home, how do I know which messages have been answered?

Hi Bob,

Now that site is really nice! However, everytime I click one of the
hyperlinks, (Excel or not) I receive an error message.

I don't know where you got the "nsnews" from. It's msnews - M for Mike, not
N for November.

.... but I don't know what's wrong with your setup. It may be worth looking

Shane, I am now using Vista Home Premium windows mail. When I click on one
of those links it comes up fine and when I leave it asks me if I want to
subscribe.
OR, from windows mail
toolsaccountsaddnewsetcwhen you get to the server question type in
msnews.microsoft.com.

Default Discussion group problem - my computer?

I use Google Groups (for example, this discussion thread can be found
at http://groups.google.com/group/micro...dee923a9?hl=en)

This is tied into my gmail account; my gmail account is set up to (1)
retain all emails sent to my gmail inbox and (2) forward all emails
from google groups to my work account.

This takes care of the issue of multiple computers. This interface
does not have the annoying popups referred to by the poster. In fact,
these very pop ups are the reason I left MSFT's newsgroup environment
for GOOG's newsgroup environment.

I've never used outlook express, so can't comment on it.
