Default MAC shortcut key

Hi Folks,

Does anyone know if there is a shortcut key on the MAC which duplicates the
F9 key when one is in the Edit mode - On the PC this key converts the formula
or portion of the formula to a value. For example, if you highlight the
TODAY() portion of the formula =TODAY()+7*ROW(A1)-7 and press F9 Excel will
display 39224. F9 does not work on the MAC as far as I can tell.

F9 works fine in default Mac (rather than MAC) XL.

However, you may have F9 assigned in either the system keyboard
shortcuts (System Preferences/Keyboard & Mouse panel) or Exposé (System
Preferences/Dashboard & Exposé), either of which will preempt XL's
shortcut.

Since keyboard shortcuts are customizable in MacXL, you may also have
reassigned F9. Go to Tools/Customize/Customize Keyboard..., choose All
Commands from the Categories Listbox, then Calculate Now from the All
Commands listbox. Verify the F9 is in the Current Keys listbox. If not,
add it via the Press new shortcut key: input box and click Add).

Default MAC shortcut key

Hi JE,

I went to the System Preference and none of the default keys are assigned.
I want to Tools, Customize in Excel and Shift F11 is listed as the shortcut
key for adding a sheet, for example. But when I press Shift F11 the desktop
is exposed - that is the workbook goes off the screen on the bottom, the
toolbars collapse under the menu system and the desktop is completely visible.

Any additional suggestions?

Thanks,
Shane

No additional suggestions - just a suggestion to go back to my last post
and disable the Expose hot keys.
