Importing webpage data into Excel
I'm trying to import business addresses from a web page (in typical mailing
label format) into Excel in a typical database (column) format, i.e., name in column A, Street in column B, etc. Transpose will only do 1 address at a time, but I have hundreds of addresses. Got any suggestions? -- DSM |

Importing webpage data into Excel
Hi Dave,
I'm trying to import business addresses from a web page (in typical mailing label format) into Excel in a typical database (column) format, i.e., name in column A, Street in column B, etc. Transpose will only do 1 address at a time, but I have hundreds of addresses. Got any suggestions? An couple of offset formulas on another worksheet devised properly would likely do the trick. Depends on your setup what the formula should look like: how many rows each full address spans for example (and if the # is the same every time) Regards, Jan Karel Pieterse Excel MVP http://www.jkp-ads.com Member of: Professional Office Developer Association www.proofficedev.com |

Don
Hope this is what you need. Just to give you an idea of what I'm trying, I choose the Data/Import External Data/Web Query from the menu. A browser opens up, and the webpage has arrows next to each section of the page and you click them to choose what to import. When I import, the list ends up in column A, with repeating addresses. I also tried the Data/Pivot Table . . menu and was able to transpose the first address to columns, but couldn't figure out how to do the whole list. http://www.yellowpages.com/sp/yellow...est id=344349 -- DSM "Don Guillett" wrote: I would prefer to use a macro.
