Default It sounds simple but i would really appreciate some help linking r

I really hope someone can help, I have a master worksheet with 366 columns
and five other identical worksheets (in other folders). I need row a1 in the
master worksheet to show any entries in rows a1 from the other five. There
are no calculations the only information in any cell is colour, text,
comments and pattern only.

The data in the non master worksheets will never overlap in the mastersheet
so no problems should arise there.

Is this possible???
Please help, Kev.

Kev,

Open all the workbooks, and copy the cells that you want to have in the master, then paste to get
the formatting, and then use pastespecial / paste links to get the links. Note that if you change
the formatting, your master sheet's formattting won't change. To have the formatting change, you
would need to use VBA and a macro.

Kev,

You'll get the formatting from the original paste - it is only if you change the formatting that you
will need macros. VBA means Visual Basic for Applications, which is the language used in Excel
macros.

You could open all the workbooks, start the macro recorder and do the copy/paste steps as described
below, and the macro should work as you desire (run when all the workbooks are open), updating the
formatting if you ever need to do that.
