Mapping to QuickBooks Pro
I am trying to import information from a checking account into QBP. The
bank's eport choices are .qif, .ofx, .ofc, or .csv. I have tried downloading the account information as a .csv and saving it as an excel spreadsheet, but I cannot get the mapping right to import it into QBP. It does not show up in QBP when I import it even thought it sometimes tells me the import was successful. Also, it always tells me there are duplicate files when I cannot see any that have been imported. I am using QBP 2004, but I am going to move up to QBP 2007. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you. |

Btw, you should get this info from QBP's Help file.

Mapping to QuickBooks Pro
First, you need to know your way around VBA
Secondly, you need to know in what format QBP need the data to be eg delimited, fixed length, etc Thirdly, you need to know in what sequence the data should be presented to QBP, eg, Date, Debit, Credit, Ref. and so on Fourhtly, you need to know whether QBP wants this info in a .csv or maybe a ..txt file. Knowing all this, you can then write a macro that you can run on the original .csv file, which wil organise the data as required by QBP, eg using the correct type such as comma seperated values, tab seperated values or fixed length, using the correct sequense, which may be totally different from that of the original file, and then saving an or renaming it to the correct file type. I have done this for Pastel, and it makes life a lot easier, but first you have to get all these points sorted out -- Hth Kassie Kasselman Change xxx to hotmail "Ruth" wrote: I am trying to import information from a checking account into QBP.
