Default Summary of dates

I have a column of dates, 40000+ cells in mm/dd/yyyy format. All of the dates
fall within the same month; how do I show which month? I want to build this
into a template so that next month I have inly to insert the dates, and I
will see the month and year.

Any help is appreciated.

Default Summary of dates

Why not pick a cell to identify the month and have it simply be a reference
to one of the dates in the list, then format this cell as MMMM.
