Remove multiple workbooks
My file testbook.xls opens as testbook.xls:1 or testbook.xls:2 or
testbook.xls:3. These all seem to be the same, but I only want one of them. I can hide or unhide these multiple workbooks, but how do I remove two of them so that I only have one? I don't know how I caused this 3-in-1 situation. If I same the file as test.xls, and reopen this file I still find I have :1, :2, and :3 copies of the identical workbook. Is it possible that the file corrupted while being transfered from another machine on a flashdrive? I use Excel2000. Thanks, |

Remove multiple workbooks
Hi
It seems that you've created 3 windows for the same spreadsheet and basically all are identical and will change accordingly. You could close 2 of the windows then save. then close the file. After you reopen, it should be fine. regards Leung "Kanga 85" wrote: My file testbook.xls opens as testbook.xls:1 or testbook.xls:2 or testbook.xls:3. Remove multiple workbooks
Thanks Leung. I now realise that I have asked an elementary question with a
simple answer. It never occured to me that removal would be so simple. I was playing with 'Window, add Window', and 'Window, hide/unhide Window', and I expected to find 'Window, delete Window' there too. I was further confused by the fact that I had just moved the file on a flash drive from another computer, and during the process I lost the 'freeze pane' command on all the worksheets, and so I though that my multiple workbook problem must be associated with that too. Thanks, "Leung" wrote: Hi It seems that you've created 3 windows for the same spreadsheet and basically all are identical and will change accordingly.
