Default Please Help! Cells not updating...

My links to cells in other worksheets within a workbook don't appear to be
updating
unless I close the workbook and re-open it. Automatic calculation is turned
on and F9 doesn't appear to do the trick. What could be causing this?

Background: The workbook is large with 100's of tabs and many thousands of
formulas. One trick that seemed to work on individual tabs was to do a
global find and replace of "=" with "=". Is there a better way??

Try forcing an absolute recalculation of a spreadsheet by
simultaneously pressing CTRL-ALT-F9.

In the latest version of Excel you can rebuild the entire
recalculation tree: press CTRL-ALT-SHIFT-F9. This should be necessary
only once (if you save the rebuilt sheet).

Let us know if that does it!

I responded to this earlier but I don't see my post, so here goes:

press CTRL-ALT-F9.

recalculation tree press CTRL-ALT-SHIFT-F9. This should be necessary

Default ctrl alt f9 doesn't do anything.

I've got the same problem as the other guy with the very large work book that only recalcs when you close and reopen it. I've tried ctrl alt f9, I've tried ctrl shift alt f9 and the don't do a thing. Is there something that has to be turned on in excel to enable this?

Maybe you could do this:

select all the worksheets
select a single cell
edit|Replace
what: = (equal sign)
with: =
replace all
Ungroup the sheets
